The MK3 motor valve features a spring-return actuator design. During normal operation, the actuator continuously stores spring energy. In the event of a power failure, electrical malfunction, or emergency situation, the stored spring energy automatically returns the valve to its preset safe position (fail-open or fail-close).

In addition, the actuator is equipped with a manual override mechanism.
